Our water based wood varnish adopts eco-friendly waterborne resin as the bonding agent.

Application
This water based wood varnish is applicable for surface decoration and protection of wooden furniture, bamboo and rattan products.

As a kind of water based varnish, our wood varnish can be diluted with clean water. So it is eco-friendly. Meanwhile, it contains no harmful substances like benzene, toluene, xylene, formaldehyde, CAC, and TDI, etc.

Our water based wood varnish is easy to apply by brushing and spraying. Application tools can be cleaned by clean water after use.

Usage Instructions on Water Based Wood Varnish
1. Application environment
This type of water based wood varnish should be applied when the temperature is higher than 8℃ and the relative humidity is lower than 85%.
2. Storage
In cool and dry places with a temperature ranging from 5℃ to 45℃.
3. Application preparation
Commonly used wool brush reacts with our wood varnish. So please use matching wool brush to apply our wood varnish. Clean the brush by clean water immediately after use.
4. Notes
We recommend using our water based wood varnish in combination with matching Maydos varnishing system.
Generally speaking, the curing period of varnish film is 7 days. If the varnish film is thick or the relative humidity is too low, the curing period should be correspondingly prolonged.

Wood Varnish Coating Process for NEW Woodwork
Before wood varnish application, we need to do lots of preparation works. The following text describe for you detailed wood varnish coating process.
1. Substrate processing
Use 300-400mesh sandpaper to polish woodwork along with the wood grain. Make sure the polished surface is smooth, flat, and clean.
2. Substrate sealing
Coat the polished woodwork with matching Maydos woodwork sealer WPD1100 or WPD1110 which is no need to dilute. Make sure to brush the sealer along with wood grain.
After the sealer is completely dry, use 400mesh sandpaper to polish the woodwork surface mildly and then clean up.
3. Blade coating of putty
Coat the woodwork with 1-2 coats of Maydos water based transparent putty WPD1000 or WPD1020. Recoat interval should be 2 hours.
Remember to polish completely dried-coating with 400mesh sandpaper for each time of putting coating.
If the substrate surface is rough, there may need 4-5 coats of putting coating.
Note: Temperature: 25℃, relative humidity: 60%
4. Primer coating
Coat 2 coats of Maydos water based wood primer WPD1200 or WPD1210 with a dedicated wood brush or spray. Recoat interval should be 4 hours.
Remember to polish dried-coating with 400mesh sandpaper for each time of primer coating, and then clean up.
5. Topcoat application
Coat 2 coats of Maydos water based wood varnish with dedicated brushes. Recoat interval should be 4 hours. Before recoating, remember to polish the first coating with 1000mesh sandpaper to remove dust particles on substrate surface.

Wood Varnish Coating Process for OLD Woodwork
Wood varnish coating process for old woodworks is different from that for new woodworks.
1. Substrate processing
To fully polish the substrate surface with 300-500mesh sandpaper and then clean up.
2. Substrate sealing
Coat the substrate with 1 coat of matching water based wood primer by brushing or spraying. Then polish the coated surface with 800mesh sandpaper mildly and finally clean up.
3. Topcoat application
Coat 2 coats of Maydos water based wood varnish with dedicated brushes. Recoat interval should be 4 hours. Before recoating, remember to polish the first coating with 1000mesh sandpaper to remove dust particles on substrate surface.
