5. Usage Instructions on Wood Stain, Colorant, and Pigment
(1) NC wood stain, also called nitrocellulose based wood stain, should be only used in combination with nitrocellulose based wood varnish. Or else, there may be poor adhesion problems.
(2) Before application, wood stains, colorants and pigments should be fully mixed, thus preventing color offset.
(3) Make sure to apply wood stains thinly for each coat. Multi-coat is possible.
(4) Color masterbatch is usually used for color matching, and it is widely used in factories and users with disperser. Due to its high viscosity, masterbatch is difficult to be mixed well manually. (5) A certain amount of GLAZE paint oil (10%) should be added while employing color masterbatch for producing wood stains, colorants and pigments. Paint oil functions to improve the transparency and application performance of wood stains and colorants, etc.
(6) The drying speed of wood stains, etc. is adjustable. 20% slow-drying rosin water or 10% slow-drying GLAZE paint oil can be used for slowing down drying speed.
(7) Too long time for waiting for coating drying may cause poor adhesion between coatings and may also induce the growth of mildew.
(8) Drying speed of different types of rosin water: AS100 >AS150 ≈ AS 200 >AS300. We recommend using AS100 in winter and AS200 in summer. AS150 can be used in wide range of temperatures. Don't use kerosene as the solvent, because it may cause the growth of mildew.
(9) Our general wood stains, colorants, and pigments can be used for color matching. AGL 2 series wood stains, etc. can also be used directly.
(10) A certain amount of transparent carrier can be added into wood stains, to reduce cost and increase viscosity, if there is no high demand on product transparency.
